You Must Know 14 Things Having increased frequency of Urination?

The cause may be

1. Type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Polyuria is often one of the first signs of diabetes. The condition makes sugar build up in the bloodstream. If the kidneys are not able to filter it out, it exits in urine.

Due to extra sugar present in urine , more water is also excreted in the form of urination.

 2. Diabetes insipidus- It occurs due to reduced secretion of antidiuretic hormone(ADH) which helps to concentrate the urine.

 3. Urinary Tract Infection- Infections of the urinary tract cause constant irritation of the bladder and thus increased frequency of urination.

 4. Enlarged Prostate- A large prostate can place pressure on the urinary system and cause frequent urination.

 5. Pregnancy. Pregnant females can get gestational diabetes insipidus. It usually goes away after pregnancy.

6. Kidney disease or failure. Damaged kidneys can not process urine like they are supposed to. Polyuria can often be an early sign of kidney trouble.

 7. Liver disease. Problems with the liver can also affect the kidneys. The liver can not process waste like it should, and liver damage reduces the blood flow to kidneys so they can not do their job.

 8. Cushing’s syndrome. This is when cortisol levels are increased in the body. The extra cortisol affects ADH (antidiuretic hormone), a hormone involved in urine production.

 9. Hypercalcemia. Too much calcium in blood can affect ADH levels or kidneys’ response to it. It can also affect the way kidneys process urine.

10.Anxiety. There is a link between anxiety and vasopressin, a substance that helps kidneys hold onto water.

11.Alcohol. It prevents the body from releasing ADH.

12.Overactive bladder syndrome- It is a neuromuscular problem in which the muscles of the bladder contract inappropriately during bladder filling and cause polyuria.

13.Caffeine
